E25: Drain problem (pump or drain path)

This group of codes reports a drainage problem on Bosch and Siemens models: the pump, its filter, or the drain path is blocked or failing. Treat it like E18 and work through the same checks.

Common causes

What to check, in order

  1. Drain the machine via the emergency hose, then clean the pump filter.
  2. Check the impeller turns freely once the filter is out.
  3. Flush the drain hose and confirm the drain is clear.
  4. If the path is clear and the code returns, the pump needs replacing.
Safety first. Switch the machine off and unplug it before cleaning filters or moving hoses. Expect water to come out when you open a pump filter; keep a tray and towel ready. If you are not comfortable with any step, stop and call a technician.
