Ub: Load is unbalanced, spinning does not work

The washer cannot balance the load well enough to spin safely, so it slows down or stops. This is normally about how the laundry is loaded, not a broken machine.

Common causes

One heavy item washed alone, such as a bath mat or duvet
Laundry tangled into a single ball
Washer standing on an uneven or soft floor
Load far too small or too large

What to check, in order

Pause the cycle and spread the laundry evenly around the drum.
Add a couple of towels when washing a single heavy item to balance the load.
Check the machine sits level and does not rock; adjust the feet if it does.
Restart with a spin cycle.

Safety first. Switch the machine off and unplug it before cleaning filters or moving hoses. Expect water to come out when you open a pump filter; keep a tray and towel ready. If you are not comfortable with any step, stop and call a technician.
