What this code means
dE: Door or lid is not locked
The washer does not register the door as closed and locked. dE1 usually means the door is not fully shut; dE2 means it was shut but the lock did not engage.

Common causes
- Laundry caught between the door and the gasket
- Door not pushed fully closed
- Worn or broken door lock assembly
- Bent door hinge or latch
What to check, in order
- Remove anything trapped in the door seal and close the door firmly.
- Press Start/Pause again after closing; the lock should click.
- Inspect the latch for damage.
- A door that closes and clicks but still shows dE points to the lock assembly itself.
Safety first. Switch the machine off and unplug it before cleaning filters or moving hoses. Expect water to come out when you open a pump filter; keep a tray and towel ready. If you are not comfortable with any step, stop and call a technician.
