What this code means
tE: Temperature sensor (thermistor) error

The washer is getting an invalid reading from the water temperature sensor, so heated cycles stop. The sensor itself or its wiring is at fault.

What to check, in order

  1. Power the machine off for a few minutes and restart once.
  2. If tE returns on heated cycles, the sensor circuit needs testing and likely a new thermistor, which is a technician job on most models.
Safety first. Switch the machine off and unplug it before cleaning filters or moving hoses. Expect water to come out when you open a pump filter; keep a tray and towel ready. If you are not comfortable with any step, stop and call a technician.
