What this code means

FE: Overfill error

The water level rose above the maximum. The machine stops and may drain automatically. Treat it as a flood risk first and a fault second.

Common causes

Inlet valve stuck open
Pressure sensor failing to register the true level
Excessive water pressure forcing the valve

What to check, in order

Close the water taps straight away if the machine is still filling.
Let the machine drain, or run a spin cycle to empty it.
If it overfills again on the next fill, do not use it until the valve and sensor are tested.

Safety first. Switch the machine off and unplug it before cleaning filters or moving hoses. Expect water to come out when you open a pump filter; keep a tray and towel ready. If you are not comfortable with any step, stop and call a technician.
